Audio requires a tap to start on most mobile browsers. If the phone screen sleeps mid-session, the browser will throttle the timer — use the in-app timer for gym sessions.
Common round formats.
Match your training structure to what you're preparing for, then train past it. Nobody has ever regretted being conditioned for more rounds than they needed.
Amateur
3 rounds × 3 minutes, 1 minute rest
Standard men's amateur format under most governing bodies.
Professional
10–12 rounds × 3 minutes, 1 minute rest
Championship distance. Four to six rounds is typical for early pro bouts.
Conditioning
5 rounds × 2 minutes, 30 seconds rest
Shorter rest forces you to work tired. Use this for bag and circuit sessions.
Technical
6 rounds × 3 minutes, 90 seconds rest
Longer rest so quality stays high. Use when you're drilling a new movement.
Questions
- How long is a boxing round?
- Professional men's rounds are three minutes with one minute of rest. Professional women's rounds are typically two minutes. Amateur bouts are usually three rounds of three minutes for men and three rounds of two minutes for women, though this varies by governing body and age division.
- How many rounds should I train?
- Train past your fight length. If you're competing over three rounds, work six to eight in the gym so three feels short. Conditioning rounds can be shorter with less rest — two minutes on, thirty seconds off is a common structure.
- Is this timer free?
- Yes. The timer on this page runs in your browser with no account and no signup. The BRAWLER app includes a timer as well, alongside training programs, video analysis, and the AI coach.
- Will the timer keep running if my screen locks?
- Browser timers pause or throttle when a tab is backgrounded or a phone screen sleeps. For gym use where the phone goes in a pocket or across the room, use the timer in the app rather than this page.
